I succeeded by removing everything about Crystal on my machine including the folders associated with them and cleaning the registry then a clean install of Crystal and it works. As for the error, reprts is the first time I have heard the CR for VS install package giving this error.
Just click yes and that file will feports in the screen as a blank screen. No search term specified. I have same issues described by Peg.
