All I can say is that Feeling Good is at least not bad. In this way you can maintain a negative belief that is contradicted by your everyday experiences.

While this information was great, I found the book to be a little tedious.

I would venture to say ANY self-defeating habit. True or not, this was a major stumbling block for me. But overall, a well put-together tool that helped me understand my depression and make large steps towards recovery and feeling better.
Combined, they may be somewhat more effective than thdrapy on its own.
You must read this book with an open mind; there is no point if you are skeptical from the start. Overall, I found this information useful and applicable in my own life and in the interactions I have with others. It helped thf go much farther in life and now, according to my new therapist, I have to revisit it.
This book helps people get over depression by realizing your thoughts sometimes lie to you, exaggerate or basically make no sense. I made the false assumption, based on no evidence, that I was modo to be fired. The Mindful Way through Depression J. I thought of every mistake and imperfection in my work over the last month or so, and convinced myself that I was doing poorly and that termination was imminent. But it can definitely help you become a happier person.
